UFED License

UFED Physical Pro device has two license types. Logical license is a standard license used for logical data extraction from the mobile phones. Physical license is an additional license used for physical data extraction and it analysis on personal computer (PC).

UFED Physical Pro includes annual license which combines both license types. What is included in the annual UFED license:

• Install Physical Analyzer software on two PCs;
• Receive UFED device software upgrades with added functionality and new phone models, once in 2-3 months during a year;
• Receive additional cables to connect new phone models to the UFED device;
• Request UFED vendor for technical questions related to certain phone models or specific cases.

In 90 days before the expiry of UFED license, you will receive such notification on the UFED device screen. After license is expired, you can continue using UFED without upgrades with new functionality and phone models.

UFED device software updates (about 10mb) can be installed by one of the following methods. Automatically, when UFED detects the upgrade and download it from Internet. For such possibility, you should set up device configuration and ensure it access to internet via RJ-45 socket. Manually, when you download update from the provided link and put it on USB disk, used to update the device. Update procedure is detailed in UFED User Manual.

Physical Analyzer software can be transferred to another PC by means of USD disk in several steps. At first, mac-address of the PC is recorded into the file on the USB-disc. At second, UFED device uses file with recorded mac-address to create unique license key. Finally, this file is recorded into Physical Analyzer software from the USB disk. On a regular basis, Physical Analyzer software is used on PC without USB disk connection.
